Building Together - Giving Forever

Neighbourhood Small Grants

The Neighbourhood Small Grants program supports residents like you: residents who have small but powerful ideas to bring people together to make their neighbourhood vibrant. Our grants range from $100 to $500. A grant is money we provide to help you with your project. You must apply for the grant, but you do not need to pay the money back.

The goals of the Neighbourhood Small Grants program are to:

  • Connect and engage neighbours (e.g. a block party or a social gathering)

  • Share residents’ skills and knowledge (e.g. artists giving a free introductory class)

  • Build a sense of ownership and pride in community (e.g. cleaning up an alleyway, adding plants to a communal place, etc.)

  • Respect and celebrate diversity and inclusion (e.g. multicultural potluck dinner)

The Creston-Kootenay Foundation has set aside $2,500 for our inaugural offering of these grants. Applications will be accepted until June 30 and events must take place before September 30, 2019. We will award grants to deserving applicants until the end of June or when the allocated funding has been exhausted, whichever comes first. We look forward to hearing your creative ideas!
